Working on getting a degree is a challenge to begin with and working on your degree during a pandemic creates even more challenges. At some point or another we were each virtually online, sitting, staring at our screens, and waiting for faces to pop up. We logged onto our computers, laptops, smartphones, and tablets. We showed up to classes even though we did not want to at times because how could we focus with all the horrible news in the world going on. We studied and worked hard to do our best in our classes. We took hybrid classes, moved club meetings to go virtual, and got advice from faculty through a screen. We waited on emails, dealt with poor internet connection, and many other technical difficulties. Going virtual felt extremely frustrating at moments and yet entertaining at others but we all managed to get through it. Take the time to be mindful, appreciate your individual journey, and truly be proud of how much you have accomplished during such an uncertain time in the world. Getting a degree is one thing but working on a degree during a pandemic is another. Remember you are one step closer to getting your cap and gown!
