Hello everyone! The CCSU Psi Chi chapter is dedicated to providing and promoting opportunities to its members and to all psychological science students. Opportunities to get involved in the chapter include (but are not limited to) writing for the monthly Central Psychology News, volunteering with us, presenting at the Research Stories Colloquium, doing a podcast, & more! The chapter stays informed about opportunities on campus and locally to help students with professional development. Below is a string of opportunities that we hear about, feel free to check them out and if you have any questions, contact me directly @Helena Swanson! Also, if anything comes your way, feel free to add to the string of opportunities yourself!

"Good morning!
The Girls Scouts would like to offer CCSU students the opportunity of part-time jobs with our Community Outreach team. We are working to bring our Girl Scout leadership experience to girls in our urban areas that don’t have the opportunity to participate in troops. Most of these programs are run after school and in the towns of Hartford, New Haven, Waterbury, Danbury and Bridgeport. The program runs about 1.5 hours, one day a week and will go from 8 weeks to a year-long program. The student would not be alone as we typically have 2 facilitators at each program and we would provide them with training. We have a preference for Spanish-speaking students but that is not a deal-breaker, most important is being able to and enjoying work with youth. Our girls love to have college students work with them and see them as role models."
CCSU Psi Chi cordially invites all Psychology students to the Research Stories Colloquium!
DATE: Tuesday, February 19th TIME: 5 pm to 7 pm LOCATION: Marcus White Living Room 2nd Floor
This will be a fun way to present your research in a LOW-STRESS environment in front of peers and professors to help prepare for the EPA conference OR just to gain some more experience with presenting. This is also a great opportunity to expose yourselves to interesting research being done by peers! For everyone who would like to present, the link to apply for presenting is in the bio! Be sure to apply on or before Tuesday, February 12th by 11:59 pm.
Don’t miss out on this wonderful opportunity!
You are invited to an intergenerational community event cosponsored by CCSU Gerontology and The South Windsor Senior Center! Join us at our screening of Steven Loring's Age of Love - a film about finding love as we age (via speed dating!). Held at the South Windsor Senior Center; 150 Nevers Road, South Windsor CT. A discussion led by Dr. Carrie Andreoletti will follow. Light refreshments served.
